Gunn Architects recently completed the design of a $11.8 M Cancer Treatment facility for Memorial Healthcare, which relocated and expanded its endoscopy services from the main hospital into this new Ambulatory Care Center by Spring 2008.
Interior design elements such as water features, earth tones and a healing garden were carefully chosen to create a healing environment for patients in this two-story facility. Within the facility there is four endoscopy rooms, five private chemotherapy rooms and two open infusion rooms.
This facility, located on the edge of a residential area, reflects the domestic typology of the neighborhood. The design, which has been enthusiastically received by the community, incorporates a green roof, environmentally-sensitive landscaping and high-performance building envelope design, as well as other energy-efficient systems.
